AbstractAccording to the article, metropolitan Kansas City is growing by a little more than one percent per year. However, the city's rankings dropped from 27th to 28th. Metropolitian Kansas City, which includes 15 counties, now has a population of 1,967,405. The figures come from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2006 population estimates. St. Louis remained in 18th place.
