TitleBuilding Gets New Life For Artistic Purposes
AbstractThe 13-story Ozark Building built in 1911 and located at 906 Grand is to become a central destination and gathering place for the arts community. The building is owned by UMB and the new name is pARTnership place at UMB. Arts organizations will not pay rent but will contribute toward the costs of operating the building. Those groups already signed on include the Metropolitan Arts Council, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and the Charlotte Street Foundation. "The plan also calls for the ground floor of the building to be used for a cafe, art gallery and public gathering space." UMB purchased the building in 1992. Includes photograph of the building.
