He served in the Union army in the Civil War, in 1876 moved to Kansas City. starting the Brant & Son Oil Company at "the broken down plant of the Kansas City Oil Company," then resuming "the livery business" and finally appointed as superintendent of the Kansas City workhouse, with a new building under construction. |
