TitleDaniel L. Shouse
NotesDaniel Lewis Shouse, or Daniel Shouse (dying in 1873) arrived in Kansas City by 1855, keeping a long diary reflecting the city as being "hard but orderly" after the Civil War. Visited by author Ralph Waldo Emerson at Frank's Hall in the 1850s (and later by the Siamese twins there) and employed as a cashier at Mechanics Bank, with residence at 617 Main Street.
