NotesThis roll of microfilm also contains portraits and descriptions of the following people: (1) John Sutter (1803-1880), a native of Germany emigrating to Westport in 1836 as a storekeeper before settling in California in 1838 on the land where the Gold Rush started in 1848, with residence at 39th and Summit Streets; and (2) Alexander Waskey (1814-1879), a native of Virginia settling in Westport with residence at 4026 Summit Street and burial site in Union Cemetery.
