AbstractThis folder contains a seven page, handwritten description of this area, concluding with a short history of the first Baptist church in Kansas City, organized April 21, 1855. Listed are early members, pastors. membership statistics, etc. The signature of F.M. Furgason is attached to the history. The vertical files in this collection were formerly a part of the department's regular vertical files.
NotesMr. F.M. Furguson was president of the Furgason & Tabb Underwriters Company, 502 New England Building according to the 1906 Kansas City city directory.
