Mr. Klice was born October 14, 1908 in Newport, Arkansas to Thaideus and Teresa Arrington--family background of William Arrington Klice. Left Newport at the age of two years. Began school in St. Louis. During the years in St. Louis, he was acquainted with Eddie Holt, well known ball player. 1115 Campbell - First home in Kansas City, Kansas.
Organized Sports--his interest in. Discussion of Monarch Baseball League located on 23rd and Brooklyn. Start of boxing career. Fought Moon Mullins. On the road with Jack Johnson. Joe Lewis and the Kansas City Kid. Boxing ethics. Started a Professional Boxing Stable (1945-1948).Influences on his life. |
