| Title | A Field of Fans' Dreams |
| Abstract | The Royals baseball team and Jackson County officials have unveiled a $250 million renovation plan for Kauffman Stadium. Construction is to begin in October of 2007 and be completed by opening day of 2010. "The final ballpark design unveiled Monday will make it easier for fans to get around the stadium, grab a bite, keep tabs on the game and entertain the kids." HOK Sport has done the design work. There will be 39,000 seats which is 2,000 fewer than now, and fans will be able to walk around the entire stadium. Also the plans call for 1,500 to 2,000 bleacher seats. The Royals are contributing $25 million; the remaining to come from sales tax revenue. |
