AbstractAdvisory committee for the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts selected a Casavant concert pipe organ to be installed in the new Symphony Hall. Kansas City has four Casavant organs in area churches, including the one at the Community of Christ Temple in Independence. Articles discusses the organ at the Community of Christ Temple, history of Casavant Frères, and the difference between concert and church organs. Philanthropist Julia Irene Kauffman is paying for the $1.8 million pipe organ.
