| Abstract | The Arrowhead sports stadium renovation plans are detailed in this article and include these improvements: 500,000 more square feet, 50 percent more concession stands, 80 percent more restrooms, and Horizons Level viewing area on the south side. Special features include a Hall of Honor, new training facilities, and Horizons Level features. The seating capacity will drop by about 2,400 seats from the current 79,500 but the private suites and boxes will increase by 20 from the current 113. The cost of $375 million comes from: Jackson County sales tax - $250 million; Chief's previous commitment - $75 million; and Chiefs share for special features - $50 million. All should be completed by 2010. Groundbreaking is set for August 22, 2007. Includes drawing of stadium and changes. |
