AbstractIn the department's sheet music collection (SC59) can be found a song titled "I Love You!" from L. Lawrence Weber's musical farce called "Little Jessie James" which was a female parody of outlaw Jesse James. A New York City apartment is the setting for the play. The book and lyrics are by Harlan Thompson, music by Harry Archer, and it was staged by Walter Brooks. The lyrics are also in French and the coyright date for the song is 1923. The show opened August 15, 1923, at the Longacre Theater in New York City and closed about a year later.
