| Title | A Courthouse Revival |
| Abstract | The historic Jackson County Courthouse in Independence, Missouri, on the National Register of Historic Places and originally constructed in 1836, is slated for major renovations. Currently "senior citizens sell crafts on the first floor, and the Jackson County Historical Society maintains archives on two floors." After renovation, the "goal is to put the Independence tourism office, National Park Service offices for Truman home visitors, and possibly an art gallery and other tenants" in the courthouse. The last remodeling was done in 1933. |
