AbstractMetropolitan Missionary Baptist Church was first called Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, then Highland Avenue Baptist Church. In 1953 the congregation assumed its current name and moved to the former First Baptist Church building at 2310 E. Linwood in 1983. The congregation is now embarking on an extensive renovation project.
