| Abstract | A major fuel tank fire sparked by area lightning happened on June 3, 2008. The tank was located in the Fairfax Industrial District of Kansas City, Kansas, and contained more than a million gallons of unleaded gasoline. This petroleum distribution tank at 401 E. Donovan Road is owned by Magellan Midstream Partners. The fire could be seen for miles around the area. "Magellan's Kansas City, Kan., terminal is one of 47 such facilities throughout the Midwest that connect to the company's pipelines...." |
