| Abstract | Two Kansas City jazz musicians, Luqman Hamza and Curtis Fuller, received the American Jazz Museum's 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award. Hamza (formerly known as Larry Cummings) is a singer and pianist who has played with the likes of Charlie Parker and Ray Charles. Fuller, a trombonist, was honored as an NEA jazz master in 2007 and has played with Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, John Coltrane, and other jazz legends. |
