AbstractBiographical sketch of Clarence Fletcher (1863-1907), "late vice president and secretary of the C. J. Fletcher Grocery Company of Kansas City." He was born in Toronto, Canada, and moved to Saint Joseph in 1870, then to Kansas before arriving in Kansas City in 1898 and establishing "the Fletcher Candy Company, now the Fletcher Confectionery Company" until absorbed into the R. H. Williams Grocery Company in 1905, becoming the C. J. Fletcher Grocery Company, "one of the largest retail grocery enterprises of the city, doing business at Nos. 1114-16 Grand avenue."
