AbstractPhoto and obituary Of Gertrude Hooker Keith (1915-2009), the first African American woman on the Kansas City school board and the first director of the Wayne Miner Housing Project. An active community volunteer, Keith worked with many organizations such as the Niles Home for Children and the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center whose library research library bears her name.
