AbstractArticle discusses the closing of the Municipal Correctional Institution (MCI) and the impact on the Eastwood Hills Community. For the last 100 years, Eastwood Hills has been a "dumping ground" for Kansas City's poor, ill, and incarcerated--home to the old Municpal Farm, Woman's Reformatory, and TB Sanitarium, as well as Potter's Field cemetery.
