AbstractThe author traces Jim Bridger's trail beginning in Billings, Montana. Bridger is considered "the most famous mountain man" next to Kit Carson. As a fur trader, Bridger trapped throughout the northern Rocky Mountains and later guided both emigrant wagon trains and military troops. Includes suggestions for dining and lodging along the trail.
