| Abstract | Article profiles a young, up and coming Kansas City jazz band called "Diverse." The five members studied under Professor Bobby Watson at the University of Missouri--Kansas City Conservatory and include Hermon Mehari (trumpet), Will Sanders (tenor saxphone), John Brewer (piano/keyboards), Ben Leifer (bass) and Ryan Lee (drums). The band's debut performance was in 2008 at the Rhythm 'n' Ribs Jazz and Blues Festival. |
