Not available online
TitleA Growing Demand for Local
AbstractFeature article in the Star Business Weekly about local farms and the demand for locally grown food even in the winter. The article includes a comparison chart between 2002 and 2007 of number of farms and acreage being farmed in seven area counties, as well as a chart of where to buy local food in the winter. A companion article, "Farmers Cultivate Business Skills," tells how local initiatives are aimed at helping farmers on the business side, especially the Growing Growers program, a national model for training new farmers.
