AbstractFinancing for the renovation of the historic U.S. Courthouse finally is in place and a Wisconsin developer, Alexander Co., is moving ahead with the project. The nine-story courthouse at 811 Grand Boulevard opened in 1939 and closed in 1998 when the Charles Evans Whittaker United States Courthouse opened. The building will have 176 apartments, parking garage, rooftop deck, a fitness room, and a community room with a home theater. "The four historic courtrooms will be preserved, but a use has yet to be identified...."
