AbstractArticle retraces the original route from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Pony Express. The first rider left St. Joseph on April 3, 1860. Delivering mail via the Pony Express lasted only 18 months but it became an important part of the history of the American West.
