TitleCourt Renovations on Table
Extended TitleHoped-for investments in courthouses will help Independence in many ways, advocates say.
AbstractProposals for renovations of the Truman Courthouse in Independence and the Jackson County Courthouse Annex are being requested by county officials who "have worked for close to 10 years to save and stabilize the Truman Courthouse, which still includes the former office and courtroom of Harry Truman, who as Jackson County presiding judge supervised the completion of a separate renovation in 1933." Last month the Truman historic district was officially expanded to include the Independence Square.
