Extended TitleYou might think you'd find the wettest street on earth somewhere in Seattle, or perhaps on the edge of a jungle. But if the "wet" in question is used to whet whistles, that street is right here in Kansas City. Or, at least, it was.
AbstractA reflection on Kansas City's "boozy past," especially liquor stores and saloons in the West Bottoms, and a "tour" of present-day distilleries and pubs in the Kansas City area. Includes a color picture of the exterior of Boulevard Brewing Co. at 25th Street and Southwest Boulevard that celebrated its 21st birthday last November. It also discusses McCormick Distillery in Weston, Missouri.
