AbstractArticle reflects on the life and career of jazz singer Myra Taylor (94), who died December 9, 2011. Taylor's singing career spanned 80 years, during which time she performed and recorded with many jazz legends. As a teenager in the early 1930s, Taylor was a regular performer in clubs in the 18th & Vine district. Her career took her to Chicago, California, and Europe, before returning to Kansas City in 1994.
