Drought, "contractor and builder" in Wyandotte County, Kansas, born in Montreal, Canada, in 1843, and moving to various parts of the United States until arriving in Kansas during the Civil War and the town of Wyandotte, Kansas, in 1870, becoming sheriff, county treasurer, and state representative. Description of his construction career starting in 1880, building "the Wyandotte County Court House in 1882 and 1883; three ward schoolhouses, several business blocks, and many fine residences, besides the Desiccating Works in Armourdale. ..Fowler Bros. Mammoth packing house, and. ..a building for the Wyandotte City Water Works." |
