AbstractPortrait and biographical sketch of Charles Hughes, a judge and former mayor of Richmond, Missouri. He was born in Kentucky in 1822 and moved to Caldwell County, Missouri, as a lawyer, becoming "at different times road overseer, county site commissioner, school-director, county school-commissioner, county attorney, four times representative in the General Assembly, and for a short time, circuit attorney in the fifth Judicial Circuit."
