AbstractBiographical sketch of John Halcro, "a stone contractor and builder," born in Scotland in 1859 and emigrating to Kansas City in 1880 and "erect[ing] many of the finest stone residences of the city, including his own home at No. 4601 Summitt street [sic]. ..after the plan of an old Scotch castle," and supervising "the construction of the stone work at Swope Park for the city park board."
