AbstractBiographical sketch of Louis Hartman, "a well known contractor and member of the city council of Kansas City." He was born in Pettis County, Missouri, in 1864 and came to Kansas City in 1884 as a carpenter, becoming a construction contractor and City Council member.
NotesThe following buildings were erected by Louis Hartman: (1) the Century building, (2) "Fowler's store on Main street, (3) remodeling of the Kemper building, (4) "several flat buildings and a great many residences in the southern part of the city," and (5) "[h]is own home at No. 1822 Norton building."
