AbstractPhoto and bio of Allen McGee (spelled here "Allan"), a businessman and in 1896 "the only survivor of the family of James H. and Nellie (Frye) McGee." Born in Kentucky in 1815 and coming to Kansas City in 1828 with his parents, then operating a mill and distillery in the 1830s, erecting various buildings in the "neighborhood" surrounding his farm, and then becoming an Indian trader and western outfitter for General John Fremont, et al.
