AbstractPortrait and biographical sketch of Benjamin McLean, a Kansas City tanner with his store at 10th and Hickory Streets in the West Bottoms ("West Kansas") but initially at 13th and Grand Avenues, with residence near 10th and Central Streets since 1872 but initially near 9th and Wyandotte Streets. Born in Canada in 1828, McLean came to Kansas City in 1866.
