AbstractBiographical sketch of William Morrison, a banker and coal investor and former Missouri state representative and mayor of Lexington, Missouri. Born in Pittsburgh in 1817 and moving to Lexington about 1840 as a merchant before establishing "a branch store in Kansas City for the sale of his goods, and for ten years largely supplied the Mexican traders with stoves, camp equipage, etc."
