AbstractPhoto and bio of Thomas Martin James, or T. M. James, owner of the "general produce business" of T. M. James & Sons in "the James building" at 6th and Main Streets. Description of his life and career. He was born in Kentucky in 1823 and came to Kansas City in 1854 and opened "a store in general merchandise on the Levee, between what is now Main and Delaware streets," before establishing his present [1878] business with his two sons.
