AbstractPhoto and bio of Colonel Elijah Milton McGee, or E. Milton McGee (1819-1873), mayor of Kansas City in 1870 and a son of Kansas City pioneer James McGee. Description of his life and career as a native of Kentucky moving to Liberty in 1827 and then coming to Kansas City in 1828 with his family, then running away and being disinherited before returning rich from the Gold Rush and developing McGee's Addition in the south of town along Grand Avenue.
