Description of his father William Oldham (1833-1897), a Santa Fe freighter native to Kentucky and coming to Kansas City in 1859, building "the Phoenix mill at the corner of [2nd Street] and Troost avenue," operating a grocery store at 22-24 East 4th Street, and building "the whole block at Troost and [8th Street] and a half block on Admiral boulevard at Harrison street." |
