Born in Illinois in 1853 and coming to Kansas City in 1887 as a realtor with "offices in the New Nelson building" before relocating to "the American Bank building" in 1888, "the Massachusetts building" in 1893, and then to "the new building for the First National Bank in February, 1906" as an insurance agent as well.
