AbstractReprint of a Kansas City Star article from January 16, 1927 about "the Charles P. Shipley Saddlery and Mercantile Company" of Kansas City. Description of its founder Charles Shipley, coming to Kansas City in 1885 from Ohio as a manufacturer of "western" or "cowboy" leather goods at the northeast corner of 17th and Genesee Streets. Acquaintance of famous "cowpunchers Tom Mix [also a customer], Will Rogers [also a customer], Buck Jones and Tex Austin."
