| Description | Postcard of Grand Avenue, North from 12th Street |
| Historical Article | This 1906 scene shows the Clarence J. Fletcher grocery at 1114-1116 Grand avenue. Mr. Fletcher also operated a store at 537 main street.
Next door north, in the narrow 3-story white brick building, the National Theatre (Cameraphone) operated with F.L Flanders manager. Hall's now occupies the sites of both of these old companies.
In the background Emery Bird Thayer's store appears much as it does today and beyond that rise the R.A. Long and Rialto buildings.
There was no parking limit for horses or cars. If he remained downtown too long, a conscientious driver might return to his rig and fasten a nose bag of oais on the horse. Water troughs were also available. Three early model automobiles on the street indicate the beginning of a new era.
