TitleMain Street, North from 12th Street
DescriptionPostcard of Main Street, North from 12th Street
Historical ArticleThe 1100 block on Main, in the news with the blasting operations razing the Berkson Building, is pictured at the left side of the 1904 post card, published in color by Webb-Freyschlag Mercantile Company of Kansas City and made in Germany.

The site was occupied at that time by May, Stern & Co. The 4-story establishment at the corner of 11th and Main had large signs across the front of the building reading, Complete Home Furnishers and Furniture, Carpets and Stoves.

Neighboring merchants at the time were George B. Peck Dry Goods Company (successor to Doggett's), John Taylor Dry Goods Company (now Macy's), Browning King's Men & Boy's Store (now Harzfeld's), the S. H. Knox 5&10 and Jaccard's Jewelry Store with its large sidewalk clock at 1034 Main.
