Priests of Pallas, Pallas arrives in Kansas City
Priests of Pallas, Pallas arrives in Kansas City
TitlePriests of Pallas, Pallas arrives in Kansas City
DescriptionPostcard of a float in Kansas City's Priests of Pallas Parade
Historical ArticleThis 1908 post card was one of a series which depicted the beautifully decorated floats in Kansas City's Priests of Pallas Parade, held each October.

The float pictured (with street car wheels barely covered with greenery) was for the regal Pallas Athene and supposedly was being drawn by two ostriches. Huge ostrich plumes, popular with the women and girls of the day as millinery trim, decorated the float.

Pallas Athene, as played by Elizabeth McKnight that year, was surrounded by beautiful ladies-in-waiting.

On the reverse side of the post card an announcement of next year's (1909) program was given.
