| Description | Postcard of the Blue River, Near 15th Street |
| Historical Article | The Blue River at the 15th Street bridge is pictured on a black and white photographic post card published early in the century by the North American Post Card Company of Kansas City.
The narrow tin bridge was built for Horse-and-buggy traffic, but those who used it in later years say automobile drivers could meet and pass each other, with care.
The many boats banked on the shore of the river attest to the popularity of the place. The steps at the right side of the card led up to the Star Boat Company, owned by James Guinotte. Here canoes, boats, boat repairs, ice cream and cool drinks were furnished to the public, a fish bait stand was nearby.
Occupants of several of the boats seem ready for a Sunday boat ride, the ladies in picture hats and the gentlemen in derbies.
Today a modern viaduct replaces the old bridge.
