TitleMission Hills Kansas, Spirea Time
DescriptionPostcard of a rustic bridge and spirea in bloom in Mission Hills Kansas
Historical ArticleFred Harvey, famous for his railroad eating houses, always carried good colored post cards at his Union Station gift shop. Many were photographic scenes from residential or business districts. Some were from parks and amusement places.

This card of a rustic bridge and spirea in bloom in Mission Hills, sold by the gift shop at the station, was one used by the J.C. Nichols Company to promote home sales.

It was mailed May 21, 1925, with a one-cent green postage stamp to Dr. Albert E. Jones, 635 W. 58th Terr., City.

The handwritten message on the reverse side of the card reads: Spring is lovely in Mission Hills and Indian Hills. Summer, Fall and Winter each also makes its particular appeal. Horseback riding, hiking, skating, golf, tennis, picnicking, community meets and other outdoor pastimes are especially enjoyable in such beautiful surroundings. J.C. Nichols Investment Company.
