| Biographical Note | James joined Quantrill's Guerrillas in 1863 and after the Civil War became leader of the James-Younger gang. He was shot by a new member of his gang, Robert Ford (Bob), April 3, 1882. This image of deceased Jesse James was circulated widely including being used by the Golden Eagle Clothing House on one of their advertising cards. |
