Notes: In March 1908 the monument expedition shipped by boat from Pittsburgh down the Ohio and Mississippi rivers to St. Louis, Missouri. After a short stay Ezra sent the wagon and Mardon[his driver] on a drive across the state to Kansas City while he went ahead by rail. The spring months were spent visiting many of the 'hubs' of the trail in western Missouri and eastern Kansas. The expedition began winding down in May.
