SC15-5 John N. Thomas Diary Preliminary Inventory

Description: Handwritten partial [10p.] diary belonging to John N. Thomas. Diary entries start in 1861 and go to the middle of 1863. The author of the diary states that he enlisted in the rebel army on July 8, 1861 and served in Company A, the 8th regiment under command of W. K. Paterson. Also included in the diary is some genealogical information concerning the Thomas family as well as a couple of pages of accounts.

Note: A note on the front of the diary states that the diary belonged to the brother of General George H. Thomas. The date when this note was attached is unknown, but it appears to have been done at a later date. Diary has been photocopied. Processed: March, 1992
